I thought this was amazing - Thankyou Matthew. The thing that really hurt me deeply was reading about how Trungpa caused the cat to suffer and die after the poor cat had been given as a gift.

That there, is a clear as day sign this person is WORSE than the average person on the street and certainly not enlightened. I don’t need to read anything else to know that as a fact. If I can feel an animal for what it feels and what it truly is then why can’t he if he is supposed to be enlightened? I was so heartbroken, not only for the sweet innocent cat, but also for all the people who’s lives were lost to this idiot, including Pema Chodron.

I feel a rage from the Earth herself at the crime committed against innocent, trusting people, when they are searching for their source and for greater love, only to receive this evil. Maybe I’m the only one who feels like this but Im quite sensitive.

What kind of sad, pitiful existence is it to be in a state of mind where you start smoking and then stop smoking just because a heartless crazed leader does it, and then be utterly incapable of seeing what a tremendous heartbreaking loss this truly is? Is Pema Chodron insane to think that is ok?

Why are we even reading her books as if she is an authority when her only response is ‘I don’t know’ when asked why an enlightened person would do this. Err.. maybe it’s because he’s not enlightened. I want to scream, Let’s please stop with this insanity while pretending we are advanced spiritual people.
