I just find it strange because most people in the world never refer to themselves as part of a continent- they almost always talk about the actual culture they are from and are annoyed at being generalised.
There is a tremendous variety of cultures in Europe and they all behave very differently? Where in Europe are you from?
I’ve never ever heard of a European refer to themselves as European. Only Americans do that.

I lived in multicultural European cities and my hometown is London. There are Americans everywhere and I’ve never seen anyone hate on them. London is mostly safe too. The UK in general is comparatively safe.
